Dental Implant Services in Calgary

At Orijin, we want your smile to look and feel healthy. This is why we offer implant services for you to maintain the integrity of your smile.

What are dental implants?

Dental Implants act as a replacement for a root of a missing tooth. They are designed to attach things to the mouth, whether that is teeth or bridges.

How do we use dental implants?

In our practice, we use implants to hold crowns, bridges, dentures and hybrid prosthesis in place. When we use implants, these tooth replacements are able to function similarly to a natural tooth.

How are dental implants different than natural teeth?

With single teeth and some bridges, we sometimes find that you get more food stuck between the teeth when eating, because the implant is smaller in diameter to the natural teeth, so the gap at the gum line is sometimes larger than normal.

Also, natural teeth have a ligament that allows some movement. Implants do not have a ligament, so they feel a bit different.

Dental implant-retained teeth need close monitoring over the years to ensure that they are not only cleaned regularly like real teeth, but to also ensure that they are not getting overloaded.

Implant Crowns

At Orijin, we provide implant crown services for patients who are a good candidate with missing teeth who want to maintain the natural look of their smile.

What are Implant Crowns?

An implant retained crown is a crown that is held in place by a dental implant, rather than a natural tooth. Implants can be used to support bridges, dentures, hybrid prosthesis, and other things to replace missing parts. The crown is the portion that is attached to the implant, which is the part that you can see in your mouth. This may require bone graphing.

The implant is placed to the jaw of the bone by surgery and the crown is attached to the implant to fill the gap of the missing tooth.
