Dr. Ashish Oommen is a general dentist. He is extremely passionate about dentistry and his first priority is always his patient’s well-being.
Dr. Oommen graduated from dentistry in 2001 from the MGR Medical University in India, and has practiced in both India and South Africa. After moving to Canada, Dr. Oommen obtained his DMD from the University of Manitoba and went on to practice in Grande Prairie, Alberta for 5 years before moving to Calgary.
Dr. Oommen has always been fascinated by dentistry ever since he broke his tooth as a small boy and saw how wonderful this profession could be. He is extremely passionate about dentistry and his first priority is always the patient’s well-being. He especially enjoys working with children and tries his best to make sure they have a fun, positive experience at the dentist. Furthermore, he has strong interests in TMJ and pain management.
Dr. Oommen has been a part of the Dentistry from the Heart program for 5 years, where he was able to provide dental treatments to those less fortunate in Grande Prairie. It is high among Dr. Oommen’s goals, to be part of similar programs in Calgary and to continue helping those most in need.
Dr. Oommen is now proud to call Calgary home, and often enjoys bicycling on the trails in Calgary and Banff after work or on the weekends. He is also a big foodie and loves trying all the amazing restaurants Calgary has to offer. Another favorite activity of Dr. Oommen's is travelling to various parts of the world to explore new places and cultures. One of his most memorable trips was to Ecuador with Kindness in Action where he was able to provide dentistry to those most in need.
