What is a Dental Crown?
A crown, also known as a cap, is a hollow tooth replacement option that surrounds or "caps" your tooth to restore its structure. If you have a weakened tooth, a crown can help restore your bite, and the overall strength and appearance of your smile.
Crowns are strong and can be made from a variety of materials, including porcelain and metal. They look and function like natural teeth, and if cared for properly, can last 10 years or more.
Crowns at Orijin Dental
We want your smile look as natural as possible. We can help reduce discomfort caused by a broken or damaged tooth by placing a crown over the area. We use crowns in restorative cases where other dental procedures cannot repair the tooth.
What types of crowns are there?
Crowns can be full coverage (covering the whole tooth), or only partial coverage – preserving as much healthy natural tooth as possible. We always choose the most conservative design possible that still meets your goals and needs.
